tour of organ building company Schumacher
Dear colleagues,
Although not directly related to audio, organ building is certainly indirectly relevant.
I would like to invite you to a guided tour of the Schumacher organ building company in Eupen. At the moment, in addition to a few smaller organs undergoing restoration, the large Anneessens organ from Antwerp is also there. This wonderful instrument has been completely overhauled and will be dismantled again in mid-April, taken back to Antwerp in pieces and reassembled on site in St. Jacob.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us and our last chance to see the instrument up close and learn how it works.
We will also see the various steps and trades involved in organ building.
I would particularly like to invite our Belgian colleagues and those who did not have the opportunity to visit Orgelbau Rieger in Austria.
The meeting point is Orgelbau Schumacher,
Langesthal 130
B – 4700 Eupen
Belgium
Monday, 30 March 2026, 4 p.m. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal and/or a beer. The first round will be on the VDT regional group.
Please let me know if you can make it.
The registration deadline is 16 March. Please also let me know if you will be joining us for dinner. I will then reserve a table accordingly. Of course, there will be chips – we are in Belgium, after all.
Best regards,
Christoph
