Visit to the Beethovenhalle in Bonn – Acoustics and Vivace
Dear colleagues,
Having had the opportunity to experience the Mendelssohn Hall at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, we will be heading to the Beethoven Hall in Bonn on 27 October.
There, we will attend a presentation by Martijn Vercammen of Peutz Consulting on structural optimisations as part of the refurbishment. Afterwards, using various sound sources, we will explore the capabilities of the Vivace active reverberation system by Müller-BBM, a state-of-the-art room acoustics system. A range of acoustic scenarios can be reproduced, allowing the reflection pattern, reverberation decay and spatial perception to be specifically adjusted, each tailored to the programme and ensemble. Our RG member Felix Beckmann will demonstrate the possibilities. Chris Seguin will play the violin and perhaps a few notes on the organ as well.

Starts at 5.00 pm.
We’ll meet at around 4.45 pm at the main entrance and go in together.

I’m really looking forward to it and hope for a good turnout. Afterwards, we’ll round off the evening with a drink and a chat at Cantos (right next to the hall). The regional group will be treating everyone to the first round.
