Guided tour of the studios and facilities at SRH University

For the first time, the VDT is hosting AUXeins, a two-day conference for the next generation of industry professionals, in Leipzig. Are you a student or in training and interested in the world of pro audio? Then AUXeins is the event for you!

Fully booked – Visit the Berlin Philharmonie for insights into hall acoustics, the Digital Concert Hall and Dolby Atmos production. During a rehearsal of the Philhamoniker, we will see preparatory workflows in the video and audio studios.

Cerberus Media Solutions, and Hamburgs Ing.Büro Pinguin, invite members of the AES, VDT, and DEGA from the greater Hamburg area to a special workshop, with a get-together afterward.

The regional group is meeting at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. The focus is on the acoustics and the Amadeus system.

Join us for an exciting excursion in two locations, exploring the room acoustics. Experience a Basel Symphony Orchestra rehearsal at the Stadtcasino Basel, gain exclusive insights into acoustics and recording techniques, and discover the redesigned Paul Sacher Hall. Optional dinner afterwards.

Today we’ll be touring the sound department at the Braunschweig State Theater. The highlight will be attending the main orchestra rehearsal for Der Freischütz, featuring 360° sound reinforcement and tracking of the soloists. There are very few seats available for this event, so sign up quickly!

The Swiss Regional Group will meet on August 10, 2026, in St.Gallen for a live 3D recording session at the world’s unique “Surround Organ” with Hans-Martin Buff, Bernhard Ruchti, and Stefan Ritzenthaler — followed by a Dolby Atmos listening session and apéro at Gallus Media.

On July 17, Philipp Wiedemann, a sound engineer at MDR, will give a tour of the current radio operations and the control room, including the television broadcast control center, at MDR headquarters. (Language: German)

Austrian Audio provides insights into its product philosophy and portfolio of microphones, headphones, and software at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. The following hands-on session focuses on live microphone placement, listening comparisons, and direct comparisons of different mics.

This time we meet us in Hannover: The Tessmar recording studio in Hanover has been in operation since 2017. We are delighted to have the opportunity to visit this extensive complex and enjoy some special listening experiences there.

On September 27, 2025, after a long planning and construction phase, Timo Klemm opened his floor4studios in Hamburg. Now we visit him and get a tour of the studio. Including a listening session!

On February 20, the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg invites you to a Spatial Audio Listening Session in its film mixing stage. Historical and contemporary formats will be listened to, compared, and discussed – curated by Leon Sudahl. Registration required.

The Cologne regional group meets at db Technologies in Cologne. There we will see, and better yet, hear what this Italian company has to offer in terms of loudspeakers.

Tour of the 3D audio drama complex in the new Wellenhaus building of Bayerischer Rundfunk in Freimann

I'll present the recent microphone setup at Salzburg Cathedral for streaming (ORF, Bible TV, YouTube). With seven organs and concert masses, this was a special challenge. We'll hear recordings from the west gallery organ and analyze a stream excerpt.
