Sound evaluation of violin recordings
Our member Daniel Dettwiler from Switzerland is involved in a research project that deals with the proper and professional examination and evaluation of violins. The aim of this study is to compare different types of violins in similar price categories.
The research group still needs another twenty participants for the results to be significant. The test takes about an hour and can be carried out online; compensation of €50.00 will be paid.
We are looking for young, qualified sound engineers from the classical music sector who have just completed their Master's degree, for example. Experienced colleagues are also welcome to take part in the study. Participants should be able to assess the subtle differences in the sound of violins. For further information, via e-mail.
The study is being conducted in collaboration with EMPA Dübendorf, the Walter Fischli Foundation and Daniel Dettwiler, who are also responsible for interviewing the sound engineers.
