Important for all UHF users
The EBU is currently conducting a long-term study on the use of the UHF band by wireless audio production equipment. The goal is to provide reliable data that demonstrates the needs of the pro-audio industry to regulators as they make future decisions. To ensure that the UHF band remains available for our use, we urgently need to raise more awareness about our industry!
To do this, the EBU needs real production data, which is why it is asking the VDT, all its members, and other professionals for their help. The data will be used for numerical and statistical analyses and will not be published. This is already the second phase of the study, which runs from 2026 to 2029. We previously invited participants for the first phase (2022 to 2025), and we would now like to ask you to take parte again—for the benefit of us all. Those who did not participate the first time can still submit data from 2022 to 2025 for the interim report.
How can you help?
Please participate in the survey. If you have specific data on frequency planning and coordination for audio PMSE (Programming, Making, and Special Events) at events of any size (e.g., festivals, sporting events, or political events), please share it with us. To do so, please provide your contact information and upload your data files as soon as possible using this form. Data on daily use, e.g., in broadcast production studios or venues for live performances such as theaters or concert halls, is also relevant to the study.
Please feel free to forward this request to other RF coordinators/frequency managers in your professional network. The study consists of two parts and will run until 2029.
