Das war die 31. Tonmeistertagung
A successful and exciting tmt31 is behind us!
After almost a year of intensive preparation under demanding planning conditions, the 31st Tonmeistertagung took place from 03 to 06 November 2021 on the premises of the Congress Center Düsseldorf (CCD). The popularity from the industry could be measured not only by the numerous visitors to the conference, but also by the sold-out exhibition area with many renowned companies and brands, as well as the attractive and multi-faceted workshop and lecture program. The main focus of interest at this year's tmt31 was on contributions from the areas of 3D audio as the umbrella topic and game audio as a real new highlight. Sessions on electronic music or mastering also enjoyed strong popularity, as did a great many long-running topics that can be found at every Tonmeistertagung. In addition, exciting roundtable discussions took place, which, with the participation of the umbrella organization IGVW, this time extended into the event industry.
As a special highlight, a medal of honor was first awarded on Friday evening to Martin Wöhr, who, among other things, was formerly the managing director of the Bildungswerk and thus the organizer of earlier Tonmeistertagungen. The subsequent concert by the Munich electro duo Ströme set new standards for all upcoming VDT celebrations!
Until a comprehensive report on tmt31 is published here or in the VDT magazine and many more details on individual topics can be given, here is already a small photographic flashback to four successful days of Tonmeistertagung in Düsseldorf:
The opening ceremony with live music ...
... by the Kristina Brodersen Duo (Kristina Brodersen on alto sax, Tobias Weindorf on Wurlitzer)
Branko Glisovic, Managing Director of Bildungswerk des VDT GmbH, opens the Tonmeistertagung.
Jürgen Marchlewitz, President of the VDT, during his very personal opening speech.
With his keynote speech at the opening, Professor Klaus Kornwachs took a philosophically oriented look at the topic of "Art and Technology - and in between, the Tonmeister".
Malgorzata Albinska-Frank invited to two talk backs every day, for example, in her kick-off talk back ...
... with Hans-Martin Buff.
Full lecture halls with masked audiences, as here in the Immersive Audio Room.
The VDT loudspeaker group led by Gottfried Behler presented their loudspeaker prototypes.
Organ recordings in 3D could be heard from Werner Dabringhaus.
