Dear colleagues,

in cooperation with the AES Student Section Hamburg, we invite you on 14.02.2025 from 16 pm to 18 pm to the Spatial Audio Listening Session (SALS). We will meet in a cozy atmosphere in the Immersive Audio Lab on the third floor of building B at Finkenau 35 to listen to spatial audio pieces and chat about them over a cold drink.

The 33 loudspeakers of the Immersive Audio Lab make it possible to listen to numerous formats, from quadraphonic pieces to 5.1. Dolby Surround and Dolby Atmos through to Ambisonics 7th Order.

This time it's all about 3D recording techniques. Based on the project 3D Microphone Array Recording Comparison (3D-MARCo) project by Hyunkook Lee, we will listen to different microphone techniques and form opinions on them. If you are interested to inform yourself in advance, you can download the data (Reaper project, recordings, white paper) free of charge, as the project is open access.

Participation is only possible with registration and subsequent confirmation under this mail , as we can only offer 15 places. Afterwards there will be opportunity to continue the exchange.
