Jürgen Hanelt, VDT Consultant Theater, and Oleg Surgutschow, Chief Tonmeister Opera Zurich invite you to the Theater Tonmeister Meeting 2024. It will take place on 20.6.2024 at the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam. Start at 10:00 am.

This year, we have chosen to focus on Norbert Ommer's sound direction in the contemporary opera by Brigitta Muntendorf, conceived as "immersive sound": "Melencolia" in a performance by Ensemble Modern.
The content of our conference program includes

• Norbert Ommer with team: conception, realization and focus on "Melencolia"
• Brigitta Muntendorf: Collaboration with sound engineers from the perspective of a composer, audio dramaturgy in contemporary opera
• Ralf Zuleeg (d&b): Use of "soundscape", also in this production
• Christoph Sladeczek (Fraunhofer IDMT): Use of "OSC", basics, requirements and practical implementation in "immersive-sound" environments
• Guided tour of the house
• With costs: Visit to the opera "Melencolia"

As usual, the event is free of charge. Not only VDT members are invited, but all interested colleagues from our field of work.

In the evening, we will have the opportunity to experience this opera at a reduced ticket price. We have reserved 30 seats in front of the mixing area. The opera tickets cost €29.50.
